SOLINFO

A story of commitment

for over 20 years

«Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.»
Nelson Mandela

Our story

The Solinfo association was formed in 2002 around a computer training initiative in Bangladesh. This initial humanitarian action, still active today, enables the training of nearly 300 students every year in our 11 centers.

Today, Solinfo operates in just under ten countries, benefiting nearly 5000 children or young adults.

Now focused on educational support in fragile areas, Solinfo is financially independent thanks to a network of loyal donors and receives support from a few foundations.

Since its inception, Solinfo has been a small-scale, independent, apolitical humanitarian non-governmental organization, oriented towards providing personalized assistance to endangered children. The association adheres to international humanitarian law and the principle of political, ethnic, and religious neutrality.

Our approach

Where states sometimes need to be complemented, where certain populations flee a humanitarian crisis in uncontrolled areas, Solinfo responds to the requests of local partners.

We provide financial and technical support to them, to the best of our abilities, through educational, health, and material actions to strengthen the resilience of threatened, displaced, or refugee children, or to give a future to young adults in distress.

We have simple rules:

  • Strengthen local organizations and build strong relationships with them,
  • Co-create projects with them to meet local needs,
  • Focus on vulnerable areas often overlooked in humanitarian responses.

The association has strong expertise in partnership relations with humanitarian and social actors in the South.

Our programs

This local anchoring explains why each of our projects is unique and perfectly adapted to the reality of the regions where we operate.

We develop specific programs:

  1. Emergency schools in displaced or refugee contexts, involving the population itself, with training, distribution of school or hygiene kits, food provisions, and first aid services as needed and within our means.
  2. Vocational training programs (sewing, electricity, agriculture, computer skills) in basic and community-relevant professions.
  3. Psychological support for the most severe cases with expert psychologists and art therapists.
  4. Awareness and advocacy actions to reinforce the values stated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Today, Solinfo is present in 6 countries.
